‘‘Simplicity is the key to brilliance’’

We are now pleased to offer Reflexology at Dr Linea Medical with our lovely Holly.

Holly has a qualification in Level 3 Swedish massage and Level 2 beauty therapy and has always had an interest in holistic therapy and wellness. After receiving reflexology treatments herself and thoroughly enjoying the whole experience, Holly was fascinated by how the treatment made her feel and how the many positive benefits both mentally and physically the treatment had. Holly then decided to take the plunge to obtain her Level 3 Diploma in reflexology so that she is able to give patients the same positive experience.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a type of massage, which involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet and hands – each point corresponds to the different areas of the body. It is a non-invasive, complementary health therapy which can promote deep relaxation and wellbeing.

What happens during treatment?

On your first treatment, your full medical history will be discussed, and you will also be asked to sign a consent form for the planned treatment to go ahead.

For the treatment, the patient remains fully clothed, only removing footwear and socks, allowing access to the feet and lower calf. The therapist will use their hands to apply pressure to the feet or hands, dependant on the chosen treatment chosen.

Who can have Reflexology?

Reflexology can be received by all ages, however there may be times when it is not suitable to provide treatment.

Reflexology is an individual treatment. Different aspects of the patients’ lifestyle are taken into account to allow for a tailored treatment. Reflexology has many health benefits, including, but not limited to:

  • Promotes relaxation
  • Reduces stress and anxiety
  • Improves sleep
  • Improves general health
  • Improves mood
  • Possible healing for specific conditions or areas of the body
  • Can aid in treating back pain, migraine, IBS and headaches

Results may vary from person to person
